When Joy Summers (from the Carlos & Joy Show) was lead to move states away from a place she loved, she started asking, “God where are you?” But she found Him. Here’s how.

Read (from the New Living Translation)

Was there a time God opened your eyes to how important the Scriptures are? This is why studies like this are so important – learning about who Jesus is and what He teaches.

Luke 24:1-7, 44-53

But very early on Sunday morning the women went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared. They found that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance. So they went in, but they didn’t find the body of the Lord Jesus. As they stood there puzzled, two men suddenly appeared to them, clothed in dazzling robes.

The women were terrified and bowed with their faces to the ground. Then the men asked, “Why are you looking among the dead for someone who is alive? He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead! Remember what he told you back in Galilee, that the Son of Man must be betrayed into the hands of sinful men and be crucified, and that he would rise again on the third day…”

Then he said, “When I was with you before, I told you that everything written about me in the law of Moses and the prophets and in the Psalms must be fulfilled.” Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures. And he said, “Yes, it was written long ago that the Messiah would suffer and die and rise from the dead on the third day. It was also written that this message would be proclaimed in the authority of his name to all the nations, beginning in Jerusalem: ‘There is forgiveness of sins for all who repent.’ You are witnesses of all these things.

“And now I will send the Holy Spirit, just as my Father promised. But stay here in the city until the Holy Spirit comes and fills you with power from heaven.”

Then Jesus led them to Bethany, and lifting his hands to heaven, he blessed them. While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up to heaven. So they worshiped him and then returned to Jerusalem filled with great joy. And they spent all of their time in the Temple, praising God.

In the process of moving back home but that’s means leaving behind a life I thought God wanted me to have but suddenly I feel him tugging on my heart to go and I’m excited but nervous too this day was definitely an encouragement

Definitely been there and felt that. Thanks for sharing Joy. Hearing your testimony helped me to know that God knows and understands right where I am in this transition time from being married for 32 years to being a widow.
But he is also bringing me joy in the new doors that are being opened that were closed during my marriage. I have missed all of laughter and spontaneity.

I desperately needed to hear this today. Thank you so much joy for reminding me that god is still with me no matter what. Especially with this difficult season I’m going through right now.

Oh how I needed this reminder today! I know in my head God is with me but I have felt such anxiety and depression that my heart hasn’t been able to feel that way. Thank you for the scripture reference to Psalm 43 and for sharing your story, Joy. WayFM and this small group has been such a blessing to me during this dark time in my life.

Loves today’s message! Some of my hardest times in life have been when I realized how far away I was from God or when he is silent and allowing me to grow in faith towards him. thank you Heavenly Father for always being with me even when I didn’t feel it! Amen!

I liked Joy’s video! I think there are many times that we need to remember that the Holy Spirit lives in us, and that we need to go to the source to fight those ugly feelings that the devil brings.

Joy hit it on the head about it being crucial we get into the Word of God. It is when I am in the Word that I am able to find hope even when my situation feels hopeless.

Heb 13.5 “I will never leave thee nor forsake thee”
anytime I get confused and think He has left me, this verse grounds me and says I am the one who has gotten distracted and left Him. Thank God He is always there when we come back to Him.

Believe that he is always with you even when you feel alone. During the times that we feel like he is not with us, that is the time when we are challenged to grow in our faith. He wants us to trust in him. During these times the Holy Spirit intercedes for us speaking to our innermost being. As we grow closer to him we begin to seek him more and our plans start to naturally start aligning with his will. Sometimes we can’t see in the midst of life what God has planned for us but, we can always… Read more »

Wow! I really needed to hear this today. I moved to a new town also because I believed it was God’s will. I am an emptynester and have been feeling just as Joy described; lost and incredibly lonely. Thank you for reminding me to seek truth in this season aof mt life and to patiently wait for His plan to unfold.

Thank you for sharing this!! I am going through a tough time, and my emotions were all over the place. I was masking all of them with anger and that isn’t good, but the only thing that really kept me going was singing praise songs. I have a very deep voice so I would hum amazing grace, I kept praying even when I didn’t want to. For anyone that is going through a tough time Jesus never leaves your side, we just gotta know he is there sometimes.

Thank you Joy. I loved listening to you say that even when times are hard, no matter how hard they may get that we should think on God’s truths that we know to be true. The ones we learned when we were in the spirit. We should think on these things…
