Proverbs 16:9

9 We can make our plans,
but the Lord determines our steps.

Go Deep

When Lauren Daigle was forced into solitude due to an illness, God started to work on her and show her things she needed for the future. She shares all about it in today’s video.

She says, “My mom would always encourage me and say, ‘Hey, if you’re walking through this, God has something on the other side…’ I realized it wasn’t in my own strength that I was gonna get there, but God was gonna work out a miracle. He directed every single step to get me where I’m at. That season of solitude, honestly, is a treasured gift that I would not trade for the world now being on this side.”

That’s a great testimony. It reminds me of Job. We don’t know how long it was from the time he lost everything (his children, all his wealth) to the time it was restored and he was blessed so abundantly. But it surely was an unbelievable weight no matter how long it lasted. God was faithful to bring about a total change for his life. And God didn’t even promise that to Job. Job had no idea why he was suffering, but in the end, decided to praise God anyway. God did work out everything for good, and now we are… Read more »

This makes so much sense, if we are honest we would say we seem to have issue with recognizing/accepting/allowing God to direct our steps without trying to intervene. My hand would be the first raised to say… Yep that’s me…

Beautifully said. I love that verse in Romans she mentions “and we know that all things work together for good to those who love God….” romans 8:28 NKJV. I have seen God work this out in my own life. Thank you Lauren for the devotion today and for the inspirational music.

Proverbs 16:9 hit the nail on the head today. I am on the verge of being promoted to Sargent Major in the Army with this comes a lot of responsibilities. I make my plans but must let God determine my steps. Submitting to his will is not easy but it is necessary and glorifies him and clarifies for me how to make the right decisions.

God is faithful to His children, truly surrendering our entire lives is the hard part. I can not tell you how often I lay burdens down only to pick them back up.I am so glad he is such a merciful and patient God!

Such an inspirational testimony, and speaks to my heart because I went through a lonely time for four years in which I felt isolated and left by the entire world. But the Lord did amazing things, brought me to him, and changed my life during that season and caused me to understand that without him I am nothing. Every trial comes with purpose and the Lord brings such good out of such brokenness. Thank you Lauren for sharing and reminding me that all the things we go through will be worked for our good.

Countless times, I try to control my own path and when I do is when things don’t go very well. It can be hard to let someone take control of what you want to do, etc…. but if God has his hand in it, then it will be for the good of myself, even if I may not like it. Walking a path now as a caregiver for my husband… I am relying on Him to get me to the other side of this and I will accept the outcome no matter how long it takes.

Great message! She trusted in the Lord, like she sang in her song. Sometimes the Lord puts us into times of struggles but only to make it great when it is all said and done. I will trust in you Father God always, Amen.

Thank you Lauren for your testimony and for your music! Your songs are inspirational and uplifting. This message was just what I needed to hear today. Another similar passage that is my favorite is: Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not onto your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. The last couple years have really tested my faith. I have learned to let go and trust in God even when I do not understand. When we are suffering we can find peace knowing that God… Read more »

I love the Bible verse and what her mother said about GOD having something on the other side.

It is so hard to see the other side when we are in the midst of the pain. I think that is why it is so important to study God’s word to help prepare us for the dark times.

Great Testimony! It reminds me of myself of everything in my life just changing and yet even though I still struggle each day, God does have something beautiful for us. It’s also comforting and a great reminder that I am not alone as a young person suffering as we usually think that certain illnesses or in my case physical conditions don’t happen until later in life. But even through these circumstances God is great!

Lauren Daigle…thank you for sharing! The first time I heard “…when You don’t move the mountains I’m needin’ you to move; when You don’t part the waters I wish I could walk through; when You don’t give the answers as I cry out to You, I will trust in You…” I wept! You mean I have to trust even when He’s not answering??? Why??? I didn’t do anything wrong! I could NOT understand my pain! I still can’t but I trust Him! Thanks to my suffering I have learned to depend on Him no matter what like never before! I… Read more »

I’ve been enjoying – being a part of the group this month. It’s helpful to be able to hear stories from people that are on the radio and who are artists that I respect. Not only because it’s a good perspective adjuster, but it also helps me realize first hand that they are regular human beings – with real human problems just like everyone else. Otherwise, it’s natural to have preconceived notions about them – in small degrees at least – even when you don’t really mean to. And it is inspiring to hear how they have overcome the things… Read more »

What a beautiful testimony of walking in faith and believing that He does indeed hear the cries of our heart. So comforting to know that these moments I find myself in are only “for a season” and that it also has a reason. Thank you for sharing!

Such an incredibly gifted artist! This goes along with the sermon I heard this morning. We need to be aware in every little thing we do that God is in control directing our paths. Pray without ceasing and enjoy the ride! Just try to take notice of everything happening around you that God is in control of and your day will be that much more amazing!

I have been going thru an illness for 5 1/2 months now. I have severe anxiety and fear dying. I can’t work, and I feel like I’ll never get my health back. I have become closer to God than I have ever been in my 54 years living. Hearing what you just said has given me strength to see this through. I know God has changed my life and I love walking with Him daily. I hated that I lived a life as a Christian, but didn’t allow Him to lead me. I do Now and cherish what is happening!… Read more »

Proverbs 16:9 is so true! I thought I knew for sure what degree I wanted to go to college for, but God had other plans. He helped me realize what degree He wanted me to get. I can definitely relate to Lauren on struggling with disease. I have Muscular Dystrophy, which is a terrible disease that makes all your muscles weak and prevents your body from making muscles. I face struggles every day that most people won’t ever know. I cannot walk and my arms are very weak, so I depend on my parents and my aide on many, many… Read more »
