Read this fascinating story for yourself in today’s passage from Luke. See the power for yourself.

Luke 16:19-31

Jesus said, “There was a certain rich man who was splendidly clothed in purple and fine linen and who lived each day in luxury. At his gate lay a poor man named Lazarus who was covered with sores. As Lazarus lay there longing for scraps from the rich man’s table, the dogs would come and lick his open sores.

“Finally, the poor man died and was carried by the angels to sit beside Abraham at the heavenly banquet. The rich man also died and was buried, and he went to the place of the dead. There, in torment, he saw Abraham in the far distance with Lazarus at his side.

“The rich man shouted, ‘Father Abraham, have some pity! Send Lazarus over here to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue. I am in anguish in these flames.’

“But Abraham said to him, ‘Son, remember that during your lifetime you had everything you wanted, and Lazarus had nothing. So now he is here being comforted, and you are in anguish. And besides, there is a great chasm separating us. No one can cross over to you from here, and no one can cross over to us from there.’

“Then the rich man said, ‘Please, Father Abraham, at least send him to my father’s home. For I have five brothers, and I want him to warn them so they don’t end up in this place of torment.’

“But Abraham said, ‘Moses and the prophets have warned them. Your brothers can read what they wrote.’

“The rich man replied, ‘No, Father Abraham! But if someone is sent to them from the dead, then they will repent of their sins and turn to God.’

“But Abraham said, ‘If they won’t listen to Moses and the prophets, they won’t be persuaded even if someone rises from the dead.’”

Great powerful message! Thank you for reminding listeners how powerful God’s Word is! Thank you for your time and your heart to reach people!

Amen! Thank you Kirk. Blessings for Revive Us 2.

Amen! One of the most detrimental words in our language I belive is “coincidence”. My Jewish husband use to use this word to describe things and especially the bible. After 10 years of praying and many, many trials he decided to give Celebrate Recovery a chance. He saw the changes in his wife, me. He wanted what I had. February 2017 he accepted Christ as his Lord and savior. When I stepped out of the way of God and the Holt Spirit and stayed obedient in praying for my husband, God was able to touch his heart!!

Praise God for your continued prayer and the salvation of your husband through our Savior Jesus Christ!!

I always say coincidence is just another name for God. 🙂 I am glad your husband was able to accept Christ as his Savior, I know you were very happy.

It is a very important message. Too often we take for granted our choice of freedom and lose sight of the seriousness of making right choices. This is a beautiful reminder to use our freedom according to Gods will, not our own.

Wow! We have been warned! Thank you for this message!

It’s so sad that there was someone that rose from the dead, Jesus, and still so many do not turn to God. Thank you Jesus for taking our place on the cross.

I love the discussions on the scripture hearing someone eases perspective , sometimes brings an awe ha moment

I wonder what it will take for some to believe God. For some I am sure it will be too late. That makes me sad because several people that I know personally refuse to believe. They always say they believe in science, science can be proven.

Trust God’s Word….so true. It speaks overtime you open it. Just wait and listen. Thank you Kirk!!!!
