You may have heard today’s verse before, but wow, it’s a good one. Really take this to heart today.
Read (from the New Living Translation)
The Lord is my shepherd;
I have all that I need.
2 He lets me rest in green meadows;
he leads me beside peaceful streams.
3 He renews my strength.
He guides me along right paths,
bringing honor to his name.
4 Even when I walk
through the darkest valley,[a]
I will not be afraid,
for you are close beside me.
Your rod and your staff
protect and comfort me.
Bekah (from The Wally Show) was faced with her worst fear. When her husband got sick, she was faced with the possibility of losing him. Thankfully this didn’t happen, but this did set off a long chain of dealing with a chronic sickness. New fears began to pop up in Bekah’s mind, but today, she’s sharing what she’s learned through this process and some powerful ways to combat your worst fears.
Notes from the Life Application Study Bible
Death casts a frightening shadow over us because we are entirely helpless in its presence. We can struggle with other enemies – pain, suffering, disease, injury – but strength and courage cannot overcome death. It has the final word Only one person can walk with us through death’s dark valley and bring us safely to the other side – the God of life, our shepherd. Because life is uncertain, we should follow this shepherd who offers us eternal comfort.Complete This Reading
